Vu1 Technology introduces Electron Stimulated Luminescence™ Lighting Technology

Let me start out by saying that if you think you have all the energy efficient
lighting figured out…..   OH, No Grasshopper!

It is neither incandescent, fluorescent nor LED. Vu1 has been quietly developing
an alternative technology, and the lighting industry might be on the verge of a
genuine shakeup. Electron Stimulated Luminescence (ESL™) Lighting Technology is an
entirely new, energy efficient lighting technology.

ESL Lighting Technology uses accelerated electrons to stimulate phosphor to create
light, making the surface of the bulb “glow”.  ESL Technology creates the same light
quality as an incandescent but is more energy conserving. There is no use of the
neurotoxin Mercury (Hg) in the lighting process.

Vu1 uses commonly sourced, non-hazardous, commercial materials that are customized
to their specifications. ESL is encased in standard light bulb glass which is
sourced from existing light bulb glass manufacturers. No specialized glass is
required.  Therefore, no current glass companies have to worry about shutting
down due to no business.

These bulbs are 75% more efficient and last 7 times longer than regular bulbs.

These bulbs will also be comparable in cost to CFL bulbs.

They contain no mercury and are made to be fully recyclable/disposable.

These bulbs are less costly to produce than LEDs/OLEDs.

Their target is to bring to market in the first 3 months of 2009 is an
energy efficient, mercury free, totally nontoxic household disposable bulbs.
The new bulb will be fully dimmable with instant-on capability and will work
with existing lighting controls.  Unfortunately for us, the first batch
of products will be for floodlights and recessed lighting.

Vu1′s manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic is capable of churning out
several million ESL™ bulbs in the first year of business.

I believe we have found a winner with this new bulb!  What do you think?
